From the beginning our hope was to have this organization be more than “just another Krewe”, but instead to remain aligned with our Louisiana traditions and roots.  It is important to us for you and your family to feel welcomed in hopes that one day future generations will continue to embrace the traditions we hold so dear.  Krewe de Halcyon’s core values are family, fun and fulfillment year-round, with charity at the top of its list.  Of course, we place special emphasis on the Mardi Gras season!  The ball and parade will be a blast, and Louisiana’s carnival season will be enjoyed by all!

2020 Mardi Gras Ball

The ball was held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and "Under the Big Top" was the Krewe's theme.

Mardi Gras Parade

The parade rolls 2 Saturdays before Fat Tuesday each year.  Our Krewe strives to one day have a Mardi Gras parade in Ascension Parish.

Lions Club "Recycle for Sight" Program (200 pair of eyeglasses and counting...)

The donated glasses help many people to experience corrected vision for the first time enabling them to read, attend school, gain employment and take care of their families.  The Lions Club's objective is to provide eyeglasses, eye exams and eye surgeries to those who are not able to afford them.

Muscular Dystrophy Association

The Krewe raises money in support of fighting to free individuals, and the families who love them, from the harmful effects of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases so they can live longer and grow stronger.

Veterans' Parade

The Gonzales Veterans' Parade rolls on the Sunday after Veterans' Day each year.  It is a special day to honor all Veterans and their families.

Homeless Outreach Projects (285 personal hygiene bags and counting...)

Personal hygiene bags with notes of encouragement are provided to homeless men, women and children when served a meal.

Wreaths Across America

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Our Krewe fundraises and participates in the St. Jude Walk/Run held in Baton Rouge, LA and Memphis, TN.

Musical Tribute to Our Troops

The event raises money for projects in Ascension Parish to support our Veterans, including giving scholarships to Veterans' family members.

American Heart Association

The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event that brings communities together to raise funds and celebrate progress in the fight against this country's No. 1 and No . 5 killers, heart diseases and stroke.

Farm Day

Farm Day is a special day where all children, including children with special needs, and their families are able to eat, play games, do crafts, ride horses, and pet animals at the Petite Farm located in Ascension Parish!  Admission is free to the public!
