From the beginning our hope was to have this organization be more than “just another Krewe”, but instead to remain aligned with our Louisiana traditions and roots. It is important to us for you and your family to feel welcomed in hopes that one day future generations will continue to embrace the traditions we hold so dear. Krewe de Halcyon’s core values are family, fun and fulfillment year-round, with charity at the top of its list. Of course, we place special emphasis on the Mardi Gras season! The ball and parade will be a blast, and Louisiana’s carnival season will be enjoyed by all!
The "Masquerade-Unmask the Night" themed ball was held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The parade rolls 2 Saturdays before Fat Tuesday each year. 2024’s parade was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The donated glasses help many people to experience corrected vision for the first time enabling them to read, attend school, gain employment and take care of their families. The Lions Club's objective is to provide eyeglasses, eye exams and eye surgeries to those who are not able to afford them.
The Krewe raises money in support of fighting to free individuals, and the families who love them, from the harmful effects of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases so they can live longer and grow stronger.
The Gonzales Veterans' Parade rolls on the Sunday after Veterans' Day each year. It is a special day to honor all Veterans and their families.
Personal hygiene bags with notes of encouragement are provided to homeless men, women and children when served a meal.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at over 1,100 locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. The goal is for every Veteran's grave to have a wreath displayed in Ascension Parish.
Finding cures. Saving children.
Our Krewe fundraises and participates in the St. Jude Walk/Run held in Baton Rouge, LA and Memphis, TN.
The event raises money for projects in Ascension Parish to support our Veterans, including giving scholarships to Veterans' family members.
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event that brings communities together to raise funds and celebrate progress in the fight against this country's No. 1 and No . 5 killers, heart diseases and stroke.
Farm Day is a special day where all children, including children with special needs, and their families are able to eat, play games, do crafts, ride horses, and pet animals at the Petite Farm located in Ascension Parish. Admission is free to the public!
Help provide care coordination and supportive services free of charge to individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) by participating in Ryan Clark's Sickle Cell Anemia Run held in Baton Rouge, LA.
March of Dimes fights for the health of all moms and babies by advocating for policies to protect them. They are working to radically improve the health care they receive, pioneering research to find solutions, and empowering families with the knowledge and tools to have healthier pregnancies. By uniting communities, March of Dimes builds a brighter future for us all.
Our Krewe participates in the animal ministry and Mardi Gras celebration to support local residents in assisted living.
